This FAQ may help answer some of your questions regarding Indianapolis Animal Urgent Care. Feel free to call if you have any additional concerns or questions.

Do I need an appointment?You do not need an appointment. We do however recommend you to register online or call before arrival to go over what to expect when visiting IAUC and answer any preliminary questions you may have.

What is an urgent care veterinary hospital?We are a facility created exclusively to treat active medical issues in dogs and cats. We bridge the gap between primary care veterinarians and emergency rooms, offering efficient and transparent services when your family veterinarian is unavailable or if you don't have an established primary care veterinarian. We are capable of managing everything from mild cases like ear and urinary tract infections to emergency abdominal surgeries like cesarean sections, gastrointestinal foreign bodies and more.

Where are you located?827 S East St. Indianapolis, IN 46225 Indianapolis Animal Urgent Care is located on East Street in the Fletcher Place neighborhood, adjacent to Fountain Square. We're just next to the intersection of S. East St. and McCarty St. We're across the street from Eli Lilly campus. We're just a single turn off of the highway coming from either South I-65/I-70 or North I-65. Free parking is available in our parking lot adjacent to the left side of the building as well as free street parking directly in front.

What are your hours?On weekdays we open from 12PM until 10PM. On weekends we are open from 10AM until 8PM. We are open 7 days a week with the exception of some holidays and special occasions.

Are you affiliated with any veterinary clinics, hospitals or corporations?No, IAUC is independently owned and operated. We have no financial incentive to recommend or refer to any particular hospital or facility. Our relationships with surrounding area veterinary care providers is extremely important to us and we aim to provide easy, uncomplicated records for other veterinarians whether they be your primary or referral care to continue your care as or if needed.

Is my pet experiencing a medical issue that should be seen urgently?If you're worried, we typically recommend erring on the side of caution and having your pet evaluated. Feel free to give us a call and we can help you assess if your pet should be seen.

What types of surgeries do you perform?We are experienced in most emergency abdominal procedures including foreign body obstructions, cesareans, bloats, pyometras and more. For cases that are likely to require blood transfusions (eg. unstable hemoabdomen) or multiple-day hospitalizations (eg. septic peritonitis) we would encourage treatment at a 24-hour facility. We are typically able to perform most amputations. We do not perform advanced orthopedic surgery.

Do you offer vaccinations?Indianapolis Animal Urgent Care does not administer vaccinations.

Do you perform spays or neuters?We do not perform elective surgeries such as spays and neuters.

Do you perform dentals?Indianapolis Animal Urgent Care does not perform dental procedures.

What payment methods do you accept?We accept most major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express as well as bank debit cards, CareCredit, Scratchpay and cash. We do not accept personal checks, business checks. Scratchpay can be applied to at www.scratchpay.com CareCredit can be applied to at www.carecredit.com

What if I cannot afford treatment?We will do our absolute best to stay within whatever budget or financial constraints you may have. Please be open about your concerns and forward with what you are comfortable with and we will help you determine the best plan for you and your pet's care. We do not have payment plans and utilize CareCredit and Scratchpay to handle those with payment plan needs. How much does it cost?The examination fee is $128. Any diagnostic testing, treatments or dispensed items and medications are additional. All fees are due at the time of service. The staff can give you an estimated expected cost for diagnostics and/or treatments. We aim to be very transparent and practical with our pricing and recommendations. Some procedures such as emergency surgery require deposits prior to services rendered. Most emergency abdominal surgeries cost somewhere between $2500 and $5000. Pricing varies widely based on previous diagnostics performed, the specific procedure and time required, the size of the pet and a large number of other factors.

Do you offer payment plans?We do not offer in-house payment plans. Our veterinarians are extremely respectful of financial concerns, limitations and general practicality. We are able to accept payment through CareCredit, Scratch Pay, and Varidi Payment Plans.
